Ready Steady Cook, a competition styled on the popular TV series will be featured at NSA North Sheep 2011, the northern region’s biennial one day event to be staged on Wednesday, 8 June at West Nubbock, Hexham by kind permission of Lewis and Helen Forster.
The spectacle which is scheduled to be staged twice during the event and is sponsored by Morrisons/Woodheads, will feature two well known auctioneers, Chris Armstrong, Hexham & Northern Marts and John Wharton, Penrith Auction Mart, and two lamb buyers, Haig Murray, of Dunbia and Morrisons/Woodheads’ Paul Barker. Tony Binks, chef at the nearby Barrasford Arms, Hexham will be the master judge and Frankie Walton, Rothbury will provide the commentary.
“Ready Steady Cook has proved to be a highly applauded TV programme and we are confident that our customised version featuring solely lamb will be equally popular,” says NSA North Sheep organiser, Julie Sedgewick. “Apart from offering a ight hearted aside from the main business of the event, the venture which will provide a great opportunity to promote lamb, kindly donated by Morrisons/Woodheads.”
