NSA events successfully celebrate the best of UK sheep farming
10th August 2023
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is celebrating a successful summer of events across England, Wales and Northern Ireland that have welcomed sheep farmers for enjoyable and informative days out and celebrated all that is great about the UK sheep sector.
As part of NSA’s biennial calendar, four main NSA events have taken place over the past few months; NSA Sheep South West, NSA Welsh Sheep, NSA North Sheep and NSA Sheep Northern Ireland. NSA events are well known for offering those attending, whether as an exhibitor or visitor, a valuable opportunity to meet business to business to discuss the latest innovations and products as well as allowing farmers the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge by attending insightful seminars and workshops.
NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker says: “All at NSA are thrilled with the success of our 2023 events. This year has allowed the full complement of NSA regional events, held in the opposite year to NSA Sheep Event, to take place after an extended absence due to the Covid pandemic. It was clear that all attending appreciated the time and effort that went into the events’ organisation, praise must be given to the regional event organisers, their committees and farm hosts.
"Thanks also go to the many industry sponsors that support NSA events, it is only through their generous support that these events can be held so successfully.”
Premier and Major sponsors at this summer’s events included Dunbia, Farmcare products, HCC, Hexham & Northern Marts, Irish Farmers Journal, Provita, Shearwell Data Ltd, Te Pari, and Welshpool Livestock Sales.
Several mainline sponsors also showed support across all four events, including The Blue faced Leicester Sheep Society, British / Ulster Wool, Crystalyx, Elanco and MSD. A full list of event sponsors can be found on the event webpages via the NSA website at www.nationalsheep.org.uk/events
Thoughts now turn to 2024 with plans beginning to come together for the Association’s flagship events; NSA Sheep Event and NSA Scot Sheep, with less than a year until both open their gates.
NSA Scot Sheep will take place on Wednesday 5th June at Aikengall Farm, Innerwick, Dunbar, East Lothian, by kind permission of the Hamilton family. Situated in a great location the event will feature the impressive beef and sheep enterprise of the family as well as offering the usual popular mix of tradestands, seminars, workshops and competitions.
Following NSA Scot Sheep will be the national showcase of NSA, NSA Sheep Event. Taking place on Tuesday 30th July, the event will welcome visitors from across the UK and further afield to its usual venue, The Three Counties Showground, Worcestershire.
Mr Stocker concludes: “2024 is already set to be a busy and exciting year for the Association. NSA events go from strength to strength and so we do hope as many of the country’s sheep farmers are able to join us next year for what we are certain will be worthwhile and enjoyable days out.”
