There's an old saying that 'a farmer is only as good as his dog' Sheep farmers rely on them every day for gathering and herding sheep all over the country from fells and mountains to lowland farms, sheep dogs are an essential part of sheep farming. Some of the best dogs and handlers from Cumbria will be competing at North Sheep.

Starting at 8.30am, the Sheep dog trial will demonstrate the incredible partnership between shepherds and their dogs as they navigate a series of challenges. There are 45 dogs entered from 28 local handlers. The sheepdog area can be walked to from the event but is best viewed from the Farm Tour.
